Q: Hi Nurse Doza! I need your help losing weight. I was on Ozempic for over a year, and it didn’t work. It’s getting harder and harder each year to keep this weight down, and now with menopause, it seems almost impossible. What can I do?

A: Menopause places the body in a mild prediabetic state, making it harder to burn fat.

When estrogen drops, insulin resistance rises — especially in the liver and fat cells. But the hidden culprit is often leptin resistance.

Leptin is a hormone that signals fullness to the brain. When leptin resistance develops, the brain never gets the “I’m full” message — leading to overeating and stalled weight loss.

Even with Ozempic or other GLP-1s, emotional eating and stress-driven hunger can persist until leptin sensitivity is restored.

How to reset metabolism & lose weight naturally:

  1. Pause before eating. Ask, “Am I truly hungry, or just seeking comfort?”

  2. Fast for 24–36 hours weekly or biweekly. Each fast resets metabolism, reduces inflammation, and burns visceral fat.

  3. Use temperature therapy. Alternate cold exposure (shiver for a few minutes) and 15–20 minutes in a dry sauna to boost detox and metabolism.

  4. Support liver detox. The liver drives fat metabolism. Start with 2–3 caps of Liver Boost each morning on an empty stomach.

Q:  Nurse Doza, I am tired all the time! I have been for years and even with hormone replacement therapy and coffee, I’m still tired. You mentioned getting labs to see what the issue could be. Which ones do you recommend and what should I do about the constant lack of energy? Thank you for your help!

A: Nurse Doza:  nergy loss is rarely just about caffeine or hormones — it’s about deficiencies and stress.

Here are the labs I recommend for anyone with chronic fatigue:

What To Do

hs-CRP

Inflammation

Insulin

Blood sugar balance

Q: Hey Nurse Doza. Heavy fast food eater here. Cutting it out now as I’ve been told I have a fatty liver. Is there a thing I can do? My doctor didn’t seem worried. Can this be reversed?

A: Nurse Doza: bsolutely — fatty liver is reversible at any stage with the right daily habits.

How to reverse fatty liver naturally:

  1. Cut processed foods (bread, soy, sugar, canola oil, high-fructose corn syrup).

  2. Fast for 24–36 hours weekly or biweekly.

  3. Eat real food — only when hungry.

  4. Sweat daily to aid detox.

  5. Lift weights — muscle tissue lowers insulin.

  6. Add liver foods: turmeric, garlic, broccoli, salmon, avocados, beets, cauliflower.

  7. Add gut foods: sweet potatoes, sauerkraut, olives, seaweed, flaxseed, apples.

  8. Detox with Liver Boost — start with 2–3 caps every morning.

  9. Repeat daily and recheck labs every few months.

Recheck your labs and imaging throughout this process. It could take up a few years depending on the status of your liver, but you will feel so much better. When a person has a healthy liver they can expect more energy, better weight, good poops, and better skin, hair and nails. The journey is worth it and if you need someone to guide you along the way, let’s book a consult and come up with a plan.

Your weight, your energy, and your liver are all part of the same conversation.
