Hello to the most incredible community!
I am excited to write this newsletter for you as I take your questions directly from the comments and replies online and answer them so everyone can learn more. Almost 5000 people are reading this newsletter right now and I know this can create the ripple effect we need in this world to make a change. Thank you for being here!
Before we get started, I have some exciting information to share with anyone who wants help with weight loss, gut issues, and even autoimmune disorders. In our online school, we have a diet class going on LIVE right now called the “No Grains, No Sugar” course, where our students are encouraged to actively cut out processed grains & sugars from their diet. If you want to join, it will be me, you, our co-founder and editor of this newsletter, Baldo Garza, and about 20-30 other students from all over the country (we even have one international student joining us!).
It will be life-changing!
Classes are Thursdays at 5:30pm CST and will be followed by a LIVE Q&A. I hope you can join. You are stronger than you think! See you in class!
Here’s what we’re covering in this week’s questions:

Q: Hi Nurse Doza. I’ve been listening to your podcasts and I’ve shared them with my family. Thank you for your education and knowledge. I have a question about my appetite. I can’t stop eating. I have no portion control and Ozempic doesn’t work for me. What can I take to curb my appetite?
A: What you might need to “curb” is Leptin. Leptin is a hormone that comes from the fat cells in your belly, and its main job is to “curb” your appetite. Leptin is released after every meal. If we continue to eat throughout the day, Leptin will continue to be released. Over many years, this can lead to Leptin resistance.
Leptin resistance is common in Insulin Resistance (1 in 3 people are insulin resistant). Leptin resistance is a by product of eating when you are not really hungry.
There is a lifestyle that can help lower Leptin resistance that includes diet, supplements and behavior changes. When you lower Leptin resistance, you can change your appetite in a healthy way to where you can be hungry, control your appetite and not eat the wrong foods at the wrong time. You can even lose some weight.
How to lower Leptin:
Fasting: 24-36hr weekly/monthly
Cold exposure (2-5x/week)
No grains, no sugar (this is our current class diet in our online school. Join here to start for free!)

Q: Hello Nurse Doza! I have been following you for a few years and the first video of yours that came across my page was about what to do after gallbladder surgery. Then I saw your video about what to do after a hysterectomy. Well, I had both surgeries done. A complete hysterectomy 2 months ago and my gallbladder was removed 10 years ago. I feel horrible, no energy, no sex drive and I feel like I’m in menopause already even though I’m 45! Is this ever going to get better? What would help?
A: Don’t give up! There is plenty that can help! I have seen this a lot in the clinic over the years. By the time a surgery occurs, for whatever reason, it’s rare that a surgeon or doctor will address the root cause of what caused this.
Supporting the liver is crucial for ultimate, post surgery recovery. My hope is that this will one day be understood and implemented.
The liver has the ability to detoxify the body. Before and especially after surgery, the liver is at the center of reducing inflammation. It’s hard to do this when the liver is flooded with hard medications (pain meds, antibiotics, steroids, etc.) or if the person already has liver issues going into surgery (1 in 4 people have a fatty liver).
Activate your liver to its full potential after surgery for a faster recovery. This can be done no matter how long it’s been since the surgery. The plan would include a daily liver detox that could include diet, lifestyle and supplements.
How to detox your liver and body to recover after a surgery (watch the podcast version):
Cut out inflammatory foods that impede recovery such as processed sugar, grains, oils, food dyes, and alcohol.
Increase more liver detox foods like broccoli, brussel sprouts, garlic, onions, avocados, turmeric, olive oil, black coffee and green tea.
Sweat more. Dry sauna is a great option. Or exercise if possible.
Make sleep a priority because sleep detoxes and heals the body.
Fasting : 24-36 hrs can help reduce fatty liver and remove toxins and dead cells from the body (autophagy)
Take our LIVER BOOST supplement 2-4x/am
Repeat this daily while looking for an improvement in your:
Energy
Weight
Digestion
Mood
Sleep
Skin
Labs

Q: Hi Nurse Doza. I have been struggling with bloating and going to the bathroom. I don’t go everyday and now the only way I can go is by taking something, which I know is not good for me in the long run. I don’t know what to eat sometimes because of the pain. What can I do?
A: Nurse Doza: Bloating and constipation are signs that the body is having trouble digesting foods that are harming the body. Over time this can lead to permanent digestive issues. Bloating and constipation are early signs of serious digestive issues that can be addressed naturally without having to resort to over the counter laxatives or medications.
Do you know what foods are causing the bloating and constipation? Pay attention after you eat next time and take note of how you feel an hour or two later. It might be a certain food, ingredient or even the way it’s cooked that could be affecting your gut. Cut those foods out of your diet and see if you notice a difference (this is how an elimination diet starts).
If the bloating or constipation is happening without any food, you might have physical damage in the gut and possibly other places like the liver and gallbladder. Repair your gut and liver. It can take some time but it’s worth it and you won’t be in pain anymore.
How to fix your gut (watch the podcast version)😀
Cut out inflammatory foods such as processed sugar, grains, oils, food dyes, and alcohol.
Eat more healthy starches such as sweet potatoes, sauerkraut, avocados, apples, seaweed and flaxseed.
Take L-glutamine daily (4g-12g) with water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. The lining of the digestive tract is made up of the glutamine and any damage to the gut could mean glutamine deficiency.
Fasting: 24hr-48hrs can lead to an increase production of new gut cells
Extra credit: Besides booking a consult with me to figure out the root cause of the bloating and constipation (remember to use code doza30), consider our GOOD POOPS protocol which are 3 of our supplements, including our glutamine, that help support the gut and of course the pursuit of healthy, good poops.
