Hello to the most incredible community!

Every week, your questions guide this newsletter — and this week’s topics go deeper than usual. From autoimmune brain inflammation to gut repair and sustainable weight loss, these are the conversations that can truly change someone’s life.

The goal here is simple: help you understand what’s really going on in your body so you can take action with confidence.

Before We Begin

Pique’s Nandaka

If you’re trying to improve your gut, your energy, or even your focus throughout the day, you have to look at what you’re drinking every morning.

Most people rely on coffee — but coffee can overstimulate the nervous system, increase cortisol, and even disrupt digestion.

That’s why I’ve been using something different.

I’ve never tasted anything quite like Pique’s Nandaka.

Pique calls it the “Rolls-Royce of coffee alternatives”, and once you try it, you understand why. It’s made with ceremonial cacao, functional mushrooms, and fermented tea — designed to support calm energy, focus, and long-term vitality.

Especially as routines pick up and stress increases, having something that gives you steady energy without the crash makes a huge difference.

It’s one of the easiest upgrades you can make to your daily routine.

Here’s what we’re covering in this week’s questions:

Q: Nurse Doza, I hope you get this question. I saw your video about multiple strep infections that can lead to PANDAS. My son has this and it’s been difficult to navigate as most doctors have not been much help. What should be done? He’s an adult now and he’s had all kinds of brain and memory issues. Thank you for your help and any guidance!

A: Nurse Doza:  PANDAS is an autoimmune disorder of the brain due to past strep infections. Strep entered the body, and migrated up towards the brain where it started to “eat away” at brain cells.

Bacterial infections never really go away because we need both good and bad bacteria in microbiomes located throughout our body.  And overgrowth of “bad” bacteria can lead to a poor ratio of good to bad bacteria. This is where dis-ease sets in.

The goal in PANDAS, and any other autoimmune disorder, is to lower inflammation. Diet directly feeds “bad” bacteria like previous strep, which can be reflected in issues like SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth).

I have measured GI Map stool tests in our clients which can check for both good and bad bacterial infections, as well as past viral and parasite infections. What I have seen in a GI Map is that a person with gut issues can have high amounts of strep…..in their gut!

Could it be from years of past strep infections? I think so and eating a diet full of processed grains and sugar can not only cause leaky gut (also can be measured in the GI Map test and is found in autoimmune disorders) but it can trigger inflammatory responses through the gut and the body.

A no grain, no sugar diet is a must to start to repair your gut which will strengthen your immune system.

I also think supporting the liver can help any autoimmune disorder but especially PANDAS.

Glutathione is an antioxidant that the liver and brain make to help reduce inflammation from oxidative stress on cells.

Fatty liver, leaky gut and PANDAS can all have Glutathione deficiency which causes inflammation throughout the body to get worse. People with PANDAS should try to get weekly Glutathione injections (use code doza40). It can help and I have seen it help our clients who have PANDAS.

I would also start taking our LIVER BOOST, GUT powder and Vitamin D.

Our LIVER BOOST (2-4/am) has 16 different supplements all in one pill that can help the body make its own Glutathione.

Our GUT powder (1-2 scoops with water in am) can help with gut inflammation and leaky gut.

And every person should be concerned about their vitamin D levels as vitamin D deficiency can lead to autoimmune disorders. Take ours which has 5000 units of vitamin D3 and vitamin K2, which helps calcium absorption in bones.

These supplements, along with no grains, no sugar diet can, and will help so much.

Q: Hi Nurse Doza. I love your podcast and I take your GUT because I have had major bloating throughout the years. I saw one of your posts about how hot water in the morning can help you go to the bathroom too! The GUT has helped so much but I was wondering if I should try coffee in the morning too after my glass of GUT. What should I be drinking in the morning?

A: Nurse Doza: Love this question!

I want you to keep taking the GUT powder with water in the morning as it has sounded like it has helped you and I love it as a long term digestive support. I like the hot water idea, but I really don’t like coffee for digestive help as coffee is a diuretic and a stimulant, both of which could affect digestive motility.

I would try hot water with L-Theanine (green tea extract) and/or Lions Maine (mushrooms) both of which have been shown to not only support digestion, but they both can help give you calm, non jittery focus and energy.

Try Pique’s Nandaka, an easy to make coffee alternative that also has gut friendly cacao. I drink Pique’s Nandaka for two reasons: 1. coffee makes me anxious and 2. You can feel the calm energy and focus within seconds!

Try fasting after drinking your GUT and your Nandaka. Fasting, along with our GUT and the Nandaka drink can help support better metabolism which means better gut repair and support. Try this combo for the next month and tell me what you think!

What you drink in the morning can either help your gut… or work against it.

If you’ve been trying to fix your gut, your energy, or your morning routine… what you drink first thing matters more than most people realize.

I’ve never tasted anything like this.

Pique’s Nandaka is what I recommend when someone wants calm energy, better focus, and digestive support without the crash or anxiety that comes from coffee. It’s smooth, easy to drink, and you can feel the difference right away.

Pique calls it the Rolls-Royce of coffee alternatives — and once you try it, you’ll understand why. This isn’t just about energy. It’s about supporting your nervous system, your metabolism, and your long-term health.

Especially as routines start to pick up again, having something that gives you steady, grounded focus instead of spikes and crashes makes a huge difference.

Q: Hi Nurse Doza! I need to come see you soon. I need help with my weight and my blood sugar. My doctor wants to keep giving me Ozempic. It’s helped some but I don’t like the way it makes me feel and I don’t want to take it forever. I’m going to get some new labs soon and I wanted you to go over them with me. In the meantime, is there anything I can do now that can help? I’m tired of feeling like this. Thank you for all you do!

A: Nurse Doza: Yes I can help you. And yes I can help you lose weight as well. Before you come in with your labs, I want you to try a few things before, to help get momentum headed in the right direction. Here’s what I want you to try (everyone else can try this too!)

How to get started with any weight loss program:

  1. Understand this is a life long journey and decision.

  2. Cut out the following inflammatory foods (all at once or one at a time: processed grains, sugars, dairy, sodas, alcohol.)

  3. Stop eating pass 9pm

  4. Cook more at home

  5. Walk after eating

  6. Eat real food when actually hungry

  7. Understand no one besides you and me will care about your diet.

  8. Learn how to say no politely

Following these 8 guidelines can help you not only jumpstart your metabolism and weight loss journey, it will also be the mindset you will have to maintain that weight loss once you get there. And you will get there. I want to help.

If you’re reading this and thinking, “this all sounds connected”… you’re right.

Gut issues, inflammation, brain fog, weight gain — it all runs through the same systems in the body, especially the liver.

That’s why one of the first things I focus on with almost every client is supporting the liver daily.

Right now, we’re running a Buy 2, Get 1 Free on our LIVER BOOST — which is the exact supplement I’ve recommended for years to support:

  • digestion

  • metabolism

  • inflammation

  • hormones

  • blood sugar

If you’re not sure where to start, start here.

LIVER BOOST is also part of what we call our Good Poops Protocol — a combination designed to support the liver, gut, and digestion all at once.

Your health is built daily — not in one decision, but in the small ones that add up.

Repair the gut. Lower inflammation. Support your energy.

Start simple. Stay consistent.

If you need guidance, I’m here to help.

To your health,
Nurse Doza
